As the school year comes to an end, many of us are thinking of ways to say thank you to the (wonderful, patient, kind, and completely out of their mind) teachers that work so hard everyday for the betterment of our kids.
I made a cute little teacher gift printable for a friend who will be having her son’s class make finger print hearts around the outside of print and then framing it. I am a huge fan of fingerprint art and created this state fingerprint art canvas with my daughter’s six grade class for the school auction a few years ago.
After sketching out the state on a canvas, I asked the teacher for a good time to visit and set up shop in the hallway inviting a few kids out at a time to make their prints. I also had them make their print on a separate sheet and sign their name to attach to the back of the canvas. It took less than 15 minutes total. Looking back I would suggest cutting out the shape of the state on a piece of paper and gluing it on the canvas to keep clean lines… even sixth graders had a difficult time staying in the lines. It was a highly sought after auction item.
