Inspired by berries and cream
Juicy berries mixed with fresh cream and sugar are pretty irresistible, aren’t they?
Childhood days spent roaming the woods in the pacific northwest. Gathering berries, playing in creeks and returning home to a simple treat like fresh berries with cream and sugar. The epitome of minimal beauty and of doing what you can with what you have. Those days were the inspiration for this recipe and other infusions like it!

What is a tea latte?
Tea lattes are simply a mixture of steeped tea and dairy. Different variations like cream teas, milk tea, thai tea, are common all around the world. London Fog Lattes are probably the most recognizable in the United States and are made with earl grey tea, sweetener and steamed milk or some other form of dairy.

How to make fruity tea infusions and tea lattes
All my tea infusions use just a few simple ingredients and the same easy 5 step method. Raspberry Infused Iced Tea Latte is made with raspberries and black tea. Boozy Peach Tea Bourbon Smash is made with black tea and peaches, as well as a hefty splash of whiskey. And this Iced Blackberry Earl Grey Tea Latte is delicious with beautiful blackberries and fragrant earl grey tea.
Ingredients
- Earl grey tea – is naturally caffeinated blend of black tea and bergamot oil. Earl grey tea is high in potassium and antioxidants. Traditionally known to be relaxing and soothing, both internally and externally, earl grey tea supports digestion. And bergamot oil is said to improve immune function, have a calming effect and possibly even aid in weight loss. Feel free to substitute any other caffeinated or decaf black tea that you have on hand. Use either loose leaf or bagged tea sachets. If using bagged tea it’s easy to remove the tea and save the strained fruit for another use. The tea infused strained fruit is delicious over ice cream or made into popsicles, tossed into cobbler, ice cream, or even tea flavored baked goods.
- Blackberries – any fresh or frozen berries will work. Defrost frozen berries first in order to infuse maximum flavor.
- Sugar – Sugar free? The berries have so much sweetness naturally feel free to leave out sweetener altogether. Or substitute to taste with a sweetener of your choice.
- Cream – just a splash of cream is all you need to add just the right contrast to the fresh bright berries. Achieve the same blackberry pie ala mode vibes with coconut milk, oat milk or non-dairy alternative of your choice.

Step by step instructions
- Combine fruit, loose leaf tea and sweetener. Or add tea bags after combining sugar and fruit.

- Smash to combine.

- Pour hot water over and steep for the recommended time for your tea. Steep black teas like Earl Grey tea for only five minutes.

- Strain tea and fruit using a wire mesh strainer into a pitcher of ice. Cooling the tea quickly to guarantee it’s smooth, delicious and never bitter. Reserve the tea and berries for another use.

- Serve infused tea over ice and top with cream.
How to store
Keeps refrigerated up to a week with tea and cream stored separately to mix up a glass when desired.
For a crowd
For a party pitcher either mix cream into the tea and serve. Or serve tea and cream separately with vodka and club soda so guests can mix up boozy tea latte cocktails.

Ingredients
- 1/2 pint blackberries about 1 cup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar or any alternative sweetener
- 8 bags earl grey tea or 4 tablespoons loose leaf tea
- 1/2 cup cream or any dairy alternative
- 5 cups water
- 5 cups ice
Instructions
- Bring 5 cups of water to boil.
- Meanwhile, place berries in a large bowl with sugar. Crush into a thick jam like liquid. Sprinkle in tea or add tea bags.
- Pour hot water over fruit and tea and steep for 5 minutes.
- Place 5 cups of ice in a large pitcher and strain berry infused tea concentrate over ice.
- The ice will immediately melt, diluting the concentrate and cooling the tea.

What type of glassware is that? I love the cups you have for your tea!
ONE armed MAMA
Hi Joslynn! I’m glad you like them, honestly these are just simple dollar store glassware. Funny thing is I get way more compliments and questions about these than all the other vintage pieces on my site combined… I guess 99 cent glasses for the win! ??
Suzanne
This looks so good! Is it best made individually or as a batch?
ONE armed MAMA
This is made as a batch recipe, but could easily be made using the same method inside a single cup.

This was so refreshing. I love any drink that uses blueberries so this was perfect. I’ve never used fruit in earl grey so I appreciated the details.
ONE armed MAMA
Oh, I bet the blueberries were a great sub for the blackberries. Sounds delish!
